Sleek Sneaky Alligator

I am a stretching, slick-­scaled alligator
Creeping through a swamp
Trampling over small animals’
Pouncing over your prey
Crawling back into the water
Staring at the near by land
Lingering with my eyes above the water
I ponder for the right moment to spring
